Principal's Message
Dear Carylwood Thinking and Learning Community,
It is with great honor and pleasure that I write this letter of introduction to you as the Head Principal and “Lead Learner” of Carylwood Intermediate School. I am truly honored to encounter this opportunity to lead a learning community where I began my education career as a teacher, transitioned as an administrator as the Dean of Students, and now as the principal. I look forward to continuing establishing strong relationships at Carylwood, in the communities we serve, and developing a passion for lifelong learning within our scholars.
I have served in the education field for eighteen years and have served scholars in grades 3 through 12th grade as an educator and coach, all of which have proudly been here, in the Bedford City School District. My experiences and open-mind will enable me to do what is in the best interest of our scholars, while utilizing open lines of communication and working collaboratively with you.
Personally, I graduated from Parma High School and played football, basketball, and baseball before going on to play baseball in college at Cleveland State University and Missouri Baptist University. I originally graduated from Missouri Baptist University with a degree in Communications. However, I quickly realized that my passion, interest, and calling was to serve as an educator, therefore I pursued obtaining my education license at Notre Dame College of Ohio to follow my heart. I am married to my wife, Jessica and we have two children, Dominick IV, 14 and Mark, 12.
Education is a lifelong and never-ending commitment towards betterment through the development of 21st Century Skills, such as communication, collaboration, creativity, and critical-thinking. Our commitment to our scholars and the greater communities we serve will be evident by the research-based curriculum, instructional practices, development of relationships, and the overall academic, social, emotional, and mental well-being and achievement of our scholars. Please join us in partnering together so we can inspire, unite, and excel our scholars at Carylwood Intermediate School!
All the best,
Mr. Dominick J. Gruttadauria III
Principal, Carylwood Intermediate
